Indianapolis Custom Design Shop, Erin Young Designs, Pivots to Design and Sell Face Masks

In the midst of the current COVID-19 pandemic, Erin Young of Indianapolis-based Erin Young Designs, is applying her design expertise to create CDC-compliant face masks that are both effective and chic.

In March, an Indiana healthcare company approached Young with a contract to create a mark prototype and produce masks for their workers. With three different prototypes created and social distancing measures in place affecting Young’s in-person client design consultations, Young and her team are taking the opportunity to produce and sell masks in various fabric options for consumer purchase.

“As CDC guidelines have evolved to recommend mask wearing as an important measure in stopping the spread, we’re anticipating that masks will become a new fashion staple,” said Erin Young. “Our team put our creative energy towards creating three unique mask styles in a variety of fabrics  in order to provide an effective, locally-made option that is also breathable , comfortable, and sustainable.”

EYD Face Masks

All of our face masks are made from high thread count 100% cotton.  They are soft, breathable and comfortable to wear. They each have two layers of 100% cotton fabric with a slip opening to insert a disposable filter( not included) for a possible third layer of added protection.

All  face masks are machine washable .

Each mask is handmade at the Erin Young Designs shop in Broad Ripple. Each of the three styles have different details and features to fit the preference, style, and needs of the wearer, but all three meet CDC guidelines and come with the option of inserting an additional filter.

Because this was such an important project, the masks are named after the members of the Erin Young Designs team. Cele, Darrean & Lilly.
