Company
After many years of searching for fine fabrics throughout the world, Erin Young Designs is happy to offer a selection of beautiful fine fabrics, trims and lace to the States. Our philosophy is that fashion is a collaboration. We work hands-on with you to create a design that is personal, beautiful and fits perfectly.
I have been sewing since I was five years old and was taking fine tailoring classes by the time I was fifteen. I graduated from Purdue University in Retail Management, and then went on to the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and studied fashion design. I have since been trained in couture design and technique.
I am a member of the Haute Couture Society of Chicago and a member of the Indiana Museum of Art -Fashion Arts Society.
I love to inspire and see the light bulb go off in all my customers – especially young designers. I have taken a few students under my wing, and currently I have three studying design around the country (SCADD, Parsons, and Univ. of Vermont).
Over the years, I have created everything from wedding gowns to chef jackets. I have worked locally and nationally on celebrity photo shoots and commercials for clients ranging from Kendra to professional athletes to Super Bowl VIP’s.
